Periodic Table Of Scrum – an update

Hello, long time no see 🙂

New Scrum Guide is out, so let’s update the PTOS!

Thanks to Fredrik Wendt‘s comments I also updated the Daily Scrum section by adding the Sprint Goal to it. Grooming changed into Refinement and some minor changes were made to Planning.

Enjoy!

I almost love the Periodic Table of Scrum!
Well I love the periodic element table and the design and logic that the model allows for predictions – see it’s more than a table – it is a theory that allowed for the predictions of elements yet unknown to be left blank until – bang! – they were “discovered”.
This is a nice toy, fun & funny… and I have to try to make it a bit better…
IF scrum were to predict something happening what would it be? Where would it be found in the table? Could we predict that scrum would result in one guaranteed element? – An impediment! And what set of elements is most like an impediment – perhaps the the Chalcogen (Group 16). Because they are quick to react with other elements. Where would the desired results of scrum live in the table (the product increment)? Perhaps the Noble Gases.

Oh – what fun… thanks Kate.

I’m glad you liked it – it’s a great compliment coming from you, David 🙂
There is an exercise where you can give a Scrum Team the table and make them fill it in where the blanks are. It’s an eye-opener for some – they can suddenly see how to engineer Scrum into their organization.
Maybe just like you say – this table will predict the next big thing. Let’s see 🙂

      Kate
